Severance favourite Adam Scott teases show's ending and what fans can expect from season 3
Can the sci-fi drama avoid the kind of dud finale that has damaged several of its peers?

Severance star Adam Scott has teased "so many surprises" in the third season of the Apple TV, with filming due to start imminently on the next chapter.
The hit series explores the ramifications of an eerie medical procedure, which allows an individual to separate the consciousness of their work self and their leisure self, creating what is referred to as an 'innie' and an 'outie'.
Although a life without work might sound appealing, the moral quandaries of this arrangement soon present themselves, with 'innies' subjected to a surreal and sometimes cruel work environment.
The second season saw the sterile underground offices of Lumon Industries descend into chaos, as innies Mark S (Scott) and Helly R (Britt Lower) chose each other over their own outie counterparts.

Fans have been waiting more than a year to find out what happens next – and sadly, we're still not much closer to finding out. Severance season 3 is expected to shoot for the remainder of the year, with an eye to releasing sometime in 2027.
In an interview ahead of the Canneseries TV festival, Scott revealed that his executive producer status gives him access to all the show's status, from what's coming up next all the way up to the eventual ending of the series.
Speaking to Variety, he revealed: "I'm involved in all of it. We talk with the writers and Dan [Erickson, creator] all the time. I know everything about what's going on. [As an actor] I like having as much information as possible."
"It's going to be great. There are so many surprises," continued Scott. "I can't wait to shoot it. It's been over two years since we finished shooting season 2. We're all anxious to get back. We miss each other."
Of course, Scott gave nothing away about what specifically we can expect from the plot, but acknowledged that mysteries had been a key component of the show's success and hailed a series famous for ending on an ambiguous note.
"Something we’re always trying to do on the show is retain an element of mystery," he added. "I loved the way The Sopranos ended. I was frustrated by it, but it was brilliant and I still haven't figured it out."
There are so many bizarre questions about the Severance universe that one can't help but fear we won't get answers to all of them before its likely conclusion with season 4, but hopefully the writers can settle on a finale that keeps most people happy.
As fellow sci-fi and fantasy hits – from Lost to Game of Thrones and Stranger Things – have proven, it's easier said than done.
