Get ready for another tense, gritty police case in the heart of London, as Apple TV thriller series Criminal Record has finally returned for season 2.

The drama stars Cush Jumbo and Peter Capaldi as Lenker and Hegarty, police officers at different ends of their careers, who have very different ideals about what the job entails.

The first episode from this new run has now aired, introducing us to the show's new characters played by the likes of Luther Ford, Luca Pasqualino and Dustin Demri-Burns.

Criminal Record season 2 is following a weekly release schedule, after its first episode debuted on Apple TV on Wednesday 22 April.

This means episode 2 will arrive on Wednesday 29 April.

New episodes of Criminal Record season 2 are released on Apple TV on Wednesdays at 8am BST in the UK.

The first season of Criminal Record released its first two episodes at once, before switching to a weekly release model. For season 2, the show has a weekly release model from the outset.

That means while the first episode was released on Wednesday 22 April, the finale will arrive exactly eight weeks later, on Wednesday 10 June.

The synopsis for Criminal Record season 2 says: "When a young man is stabbed to death at a political rally, rival police officers June Lenker (Jumbo) and Daniel Hegarty (Capaldi) are forced into an uneasy alliance.

"But what starts as a hunt for a murderer escalates into an undercover operation to foil a far-right bomb plot in the heart of London."
