Robert Englund is heading back to Hawkins to voice a part in new animated spin-off series Stranger Things: Tales from ’85.

The horror icon, who played Victor Creel in his older years on season 4 of the live-action mothership show, will voice a minor role in the new series called Cosmo.

Details about Cosmo so far remain scarce, but the new Tales from ’85 trailer does appear to pay homage to Englund's Nightmare on Elm Street roots in the form of a Freddy Krueger cardboard cut-out.

The new prequel show is set in the winter of 1985, between the events of Stranger Things' second and third seasons.

It will follow the beloved gang of Eleven, Max, Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Will, who’ve all settled back into a quiet life of D&D and snowball fights - that is, until they’re plagued by a host of new monsters and tasked with unravelling a paranormal mystery terrorising their town.

"Beneath the ice, something terrifying has awakened. Could it be from the Upside Down? From the depths of Hawkins Lab?" the official synopsis teases. "Or from somewhere else entirely? Our heroes must race to solve this mystery and save Hawkins in this new story set in the Stranger Things universe."

Alongside Englund, Brooklyn Davey Norstedt appears in the voice cast as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper.

Jeremy Jordan will also feature as the voice of Steve, Janeane Garofalo as Anna Baxter, Lou Diamond Phillips as Daniel Fischer, Alysia Reiner as Karen Wheeler, Alessandra Antonelli as Nancy Wheeler, Valeria Rodriguez as Rosario, and Jack Griffo as Jeff.
