Star of iconic British sci-fi TV series wants return for reboot: "I could bring so much more to it now"
"I’m alive!"
After making the decision to leave iconic sci-fi Blake's 7 in the '70s, star Sally Knyvette wants to return for the upcoming reboot, insisting that she could bring "so much more" to the role nowadays - and we would absolutely love to see it.
Knyvette starred as Jenna Stannis in the original series, from 1978 to 1979. She's been open about her reasons for leaving, which included her dissatisfaction with how the character ended up being written, going from "intergalactic space pirate" to "dolly bird".
Now, it's been confirmed that director Peter Hoar, exec Matthew Bouch and producer Jason Haigh-Ellery have snapped up the rights to the beloved show and are working on a reboot.
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com, Knyvette said: "I'd love to be [involved]. Of course I would.
"I sort of gaily walked away from it in the '70s and went off to university and thought I'd never think about it again. And bizarrely, it's just followed me all my life, and now I'm deeply fond of it."

As for whether Jenna could come back? Her ending was left rather ambiguous, with Knyvette insisting: "I’m alive! And anyway, if I wasn't, I could be cloned."
She added: "We've taken it on in in the Big Finish audios, she's very much alive and kicking. And for me, it's a wonderful full circle, because I did feel as though I was hanging on by my fingernails in those days, and I was very unformed as an actor, and I was playing the glam part, but I wanted to be so much more. Now, I know I could bring so much more to it."
While there have been no details in the way of casting, Knyvette also spoke about her hopes for the actors who take on the reboot.

"I would like it to mirror some of the originals, and hopefully they'll get a team like ours, which was sort of magical," she said.
"We all got on very, very well, and we dealt with a lot of tough stuff with a lot of humour, because you had to keep going, because it was a very difficult way of working in those days."
When we suggest that the reboot could honour the original cast in some way, Knyvette added: "Hopefully the fans will ask for that. I think they will."
