Eurovision paid tribute on Friday night to the late Terry Wogan, who led the BBC’s coverage of the song contest from 1971 to 2008.
BBC4’s You Decide presenter Mel Giedroyc introduced a video homage to the beloved broadcaster, which was full of clips from his time on Eurovision.
Wogan, who passed away aged 77 following a battle with cancer earlier this year, was well-known for his witty commentary on the often surreal performances from the competing nations.
“Gone but never forgotten,” said Giedroyc to the viewers. “His legacy and the love of Eurovision he inspired in so many of us will live on.”
