Who left The Traitors season 4? All murdered and banished contestants
The time for talk is over...

**Warning: Contains spoilers for The Traitors season 4**
The Traitors began its final episode with a reveal everyone had been waiting for: Who had the empty chest?
Last night's episode (22nd January), saw a deadlock leave the banishment up to the chests of chance, and it was between James and Rachel.
For one player, the chest was empty and they were sent packing. But who?
Read on to find out more about the murdered and banished contestants in The Traitors season 4.
Who has been murdered or banished from The Traitors season 4 so far?
James - BANISHED in episode 12

In yet another banishment left up to chance, James and Rachel were forced to choose between to chests, one of which contained a shield and the other empty.
For James, he opened the empty chest, meaning his time in the castle was over.
As he revealed his identity to the group, he sneakily said he was a Trai-ful before revealing he was a Faithful and had been all along.
Roxy - 'MURDERED' in episode 11

After a run of not-so-great guesses, Roxy found herself 'murdered' at the start of episode 11 - the penultimate episode of the season.
Left contemplating between Roxy and Faraaz, Rachel and Stephen elected to 'murder' Roxy to put the spotlight of mistrust on James.
When she was 'murdered', Roxy said she hoped that Rachel and/or Stephen would win as she considered them faithfuls...
Matthew - BANISHED in episode 10

It was another tense roundtable for the players, with just eight contestants remaining in the game.
At the start of the episode, it was revealed James had been awarded the ceremonial dagger, and he was sure that the Matthew was a Traitor. With two votes for Matthew from the off, the rest of the Faithful were swayed and voted for him.
This has only caused suspicion to cast over James... Could he be the next to go?
Ellie - BANISHED in episode 9

Finally, as the episode drew to a close, Ellie found herself under fire from multiple players, as per the design of Rachel and Stephen.
In the end, Ellie accrued the most votes and was banished - but not before revealing her secret: she was Ross's girlfriend!
"Oh, it's really sad to have got so far but not quite to the end," said Ellie. "I gave it my best shot, and I hope Ross is proud of me. I was sad to go, but happy to go back home to Ross."
She added, "Even though I thought I wanted to be a Traitor, what I understood as soon as the game started was that it would have been a terrible idea for me. I already felt the pressure in the game, and adding being a Traitor might have been too much. It was much more relaxing to be a Faithful and to just have a really simple mission to root out the Traitors."
Jessie - 'MURDERED' in episode 9

Given that no one suspected her of being a traitor and the heat she was placing on Stephen, the Traitors chose to 'murder' Jessie in a bold move at the start of the episode.
Speaking after her exit, Jessie said of Stephen: "He and I really got on, but something in him changed. A little bit. I just felt like he did look like he was on edge quite a lot. I really love him, we do get on famously, and I knew that if he wasn't there, I wouldn’t laugh as much, but I couldn’t deny the clues really. I couldn’t get past the moment of Ben saying ‘if I don't come back, then it's Ross’ and Stephen was in that room!
"I really trusted James and Ellie, so that kind of put them out of my suspicions. And then he was in one of the cages and came back. I just picked up on a few things…"
She added: "I am happy that I ended on a high going all out on Stephen. I also love who I've met, the friendships made are great, we’ve just all made really good bonds, and I love that. I love that I was able to tell people my name, because I was really scared about that, and then I did it and I was really pleased."
Sam - BANISHED in episode 8

All fingers were pointed at Sam during the roundtable and the players were left disheartened when he revealed that he was a Faithful, and been all along.
Speaking of how it felt to be leaving the game, Sam said: "I think by that point, after however many roundtables of just getting grilled, you get to a stage where you know your time's up. You start walking around the castle into different rooms of people and suddenly their conversation stops and you think 'Well, that was definitely about me!'
"I remember thinking the writing was on the wall for me here. There's only so long you can fight for, and I think I swerved it a few times. I remember Matt turning to me on one of the Round Tables and asking how I have dodged so much heat. I'm so happy I did it and I'm so happy I stayed in as long as I did, but I think it was my time to leave."
Adam - 'MURDERED' in episode 8

The Traitors chose to murder Adam, not knowing if he was protected by a shield or not. Thankfully for them but not so much for Adam, he was unprotected and therefore eliminated from the game.
"I feel like I was done at that particular time," Adam said of leaving the game. "I didn't get any heat, really, but it was so exhausting trying to understand and read people and every little movement. To be honest, I was in my own little world most of the time and people maybe thought I wasn’t getting very much but it was all going in. When Harriet left, I did start opening up more."
Harriet - BANISHED in episode 7

Harriet put her neck on the line at the roundtable, asking the group to call her bluff, which saw her banished from the castle and revealed to be a Faithful.
Asked how it felt to be leaving the game, Harriet said: "On the one hand, I’m gutted not to have got further. I haven't won therefore I've lost so it's hard not to see it that way, but on the other hand, I could not have asked for more action! I was given some opportunities there, I created other opportunities for myself and as I said, Faithfuls have very little control.
"In all of that I managed to find a way of fighting as myself and leaving on my own terms and I really don't think many other people who've been through the game can say that. If I were to swap with being there in the final but being duped, I'd take my short-lived game any day."
Fiona - BANISHED in episode 6

After majority of the players grew suspicious of Fiona, her time in the castle came to an end as she received the most votes at the roundtable.
Asked how it felt to be leaving the game, Fiona said: "I wasn't delighted to be leaving, but I was really the master of my own downfall because I needed to confront Rachel just to be sure in my own mind that she was a team player and not playing singularly.
"The action I took was to get it all out in the open and I felt at the time it was my only chance as Rachel was such a formidable player and I didn’t think I’d have another opportunity to put her name to the group as a potential Traitor."
Reece - 'MURDERED' in episode 6

Begrudgingly, the three Traitors all reconvened in the turret to decide who should be murdered.
After much deliberation, they decided it should be Reece, a player who had grown slightly deflated at his name being thrown around at the roundtable.
"On reflection, the experience was the absolute best thing I've ever done," Reece said of leaving the game. "But come the end of it, I felt like people didn’t want to believe me so what more could I do? I trust the people left in the game will carry whatever words I left with wisdom and use it to find the Traitors. I think I very much bowed out when I needed to."
Amanda - BANISHED in episode 5

Unfortunately for Amanda, she chose the empty chest and was therefore banished from the castle.
Reflecting on her time in the castle, Amanda admitted she didn't think her work background helped her in the castle and instead, hindered her.
"I think it hindered me by giving me too much confidence, especially at the roundtable," she said. "That just felt like meetings I've been in for many years, so I didn't find the roundtable intimidating."
Maz - 'MURDERED' in episode 5

In the opening moments of the fifth episode, it was revealed that Maz had been left in the cage and in turn, was murdered by the Traitors.
He certainly didn't see it coming, and told both Rachel and Fiona they were playing a blinder.
"I really enjoyed being there, I enjoyed people's company and I was really enjoying trying to figure out who the Traitors were," he said. "I am a tad disappointed that I didn't stay a bit longer to try and prove my suspicions as I think I had good suspicions, but I can’t fault any of my time there."
Ross - BANISHED in episode 4

Ross became the third contestant to be banished from the Traitors castle, after Claudia Winkleman delivered a major twist that the roundtable would take place before the mission.
Upon his exit, it was also revealed that he was in a relationship with fellow player Ellie, which plenty of viewers had worked out thanks to a slip up on social media.
Asked how it felt to be leaving the castle, Ross said: "It's bittersweet. I thought to myself, ‘would you rather stay in longer and be in the background, or would you rather burn bright and go out in a blaze of glory?’ and I genuinely feel like I did. I'm really happy with myself; I don't think I could have done any better."
Hugo – BANISHED in episode 3

Hugo became the third banished player – and the first traitor to be caught – in episode 3.
The barrister had ironically incriminated himself with an outburst at breakfast over Ben's murder that many people deemed to be suspicious, but the final straw was an eviscerating argument put forward by Harriet at the roundtable.
Ben – 'MURDERED' in episode 3

Ben was the second victim of the Traitors' deadly scheming, with the treacherous trio believing that his death would send even more suspicion in the direction of Ross.
That's because Ben had expressed doubts over Ross before leaving the castle on his last night, which was a useful detail picked up by Stephen, who happened to be in the room at the time.
Judy - BANISHED in episode 2

Judy became the first victim of The Traitors roundtable, as she received the most votes from the Faithful.
Based on her supposed change in behaviour, the Faithful believed Judy was a Traitor, but they couldn't have been more wrong...
"It was incredible. I was pinching myself and thinking, is this really happening? It was just amazing," Judy said of being on the show. "Everyone was lovely. Such a range of people, a really different mix but what we all had in common was that we were all nervous. I thought, let's just take it step by step and see how it's going to go."
Netty - 'MURDERED' in episode 2

After viewers were left on a cliffhanger at the end of episode 1, the Traitors had to choose between three players to murder and they ultimately decided Netty's time in the castle was up.
Her murder shocked the rest of the Faithful, which ultimately led to suspicion falling on Ross, who had admitted he had hoped to keep it a secret that he knew Netty prior to the show...
Asked how it felt to be leaving the game so early on, Netty said: "Bittersweet. I didn't have the time that I had hoped to have, but I think I've had the time I was meant to have. I've had the experience that it should have been for me, and I get to watch it as a viewer now, not knowing what's going to come."
