Hosted by Stephen Mangan, the presenter welcomes a cohort of new pairs to The Fortune Hotel with a jaw-dropping challenge that kicks off on the airport runway.

In a clip of the first episode shared exclusively with RadioTimes.com, host Mangan delivers a shocking blow to the contestants as they discover one of the pairs will be leaving before they have even reached the hotel.

The aim of the team's first task was to find a room key and make it to the hotel, but with only 10 rooms up for grabs and 11 pairs standing before Mangan - it's clear something was amiss.

In the exciting challenge, the teams must retrieve keys to earn their place at the hotel, but who will get a room and who will be at risk of heading home?

Kicking off tonight (6th August), the series follows a group of holidaymakers who are once more on the hunt for a briefcase packed with £250,000.

With promises of brand new vital challenges, never-before-seen twists, high-stakes deception and of course, intense case-swapping - viewers are in for a treat!

"It's brilliant getting a second series, because you can really lean into the stuff that people at home loved in the first series," Mangan said of season 2. "And there's more of that- more great challenges, more twists and turns, more drama. But also, a second series means that all the contestants have already seen the show.

"It was a brand new show for the first series, no one had seen it, no one knew what to expect. Now they've all come with a game plan so our job is to keep throwing them curveballs, so they can never relax and they never know what's coming."

The Fortune Hotel season 2 starts Wednesday 6th August at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
