Welcome to our Easter edition that, as always, is packed with our gold-standard guide to everything worth watching, listening to and streaming.

Inside, we talk to the ever-inventive Alex Horne, the architect of mischief behind Taskmaster, who has devised a splendidly daft Easter task. There is video evidence too, which I recommend seeking out if you enjoy the sight of grown adults being defeated by a hard-boiled egg and a stopwatch.

Elsewhere, a new series narrated by Sir David Attenborough turns its gaze to the British back garden and reminds us that the extraordinary often hides in plain sight. And for those with long memories of satire, there's even a message from Ian Fletcher of W1A fame.

A quick word if I may about our new look. This week sees the first substantial look under the RT bonnet in two decades. The magazine you know and trust remains the same, but we've taken the opportunity to give it an overhaul for a new era.

I must thank our senior designers Mark Taylor and Ellie Field for their talent, care and sheer hard work in shaping the new look. And our indefatigable art editor Jacob Howard, who has overseen the entire project with his customary calmness – and of course the entire art and subbing teams.

We're enormously proud of what they've created, but as always please let us know what you think. Happy Easter from all of us at RT!

Authors

Shem Law is the brand editor of Radio Times, and the 20th person to hold that esteemed position in over 100 years. He wasn't allowed a television growing up, but over the years he has rather overcompensated for that fact.
