As always, there is a plethora of good TV to watch this festive period, with Christmas episodes of the nation's favourite shows, reruns of beloved classics and celebrity specials of the most hilarious game shows on telly.

But if you wanting to watch something more traditional and get in touch with the real meaning of Christmas this year then Carols from King's will be making a return once more this festive season.

With yet another annual celebration of the Christmas story told through music, readings and prayers, the world-famous choir is back with their traditional candlelit celebration from the magnificent King's College chapel in Cambridge.

BBC Two will be airing the service twice over the holiday season. Audiences at home and in the chapel itself will be brought together by the performance of timeless and much-loved Christmas carols.

When is Carols from King's 2025 on TV?

Carols from King's returns once more on BBC Two on Tuesday 24th December at 5:45pm. It will be available on BBC iPlayer shortly after.

The festive special will broadcast once again on Christmas Day at 8:45am.

It will have a duration of 1 hour and 14 minutes.

Who is performing at Carols from King's 2025?

Led by the dean, the Rev Dr Stephen Cherry, the concert will begin as it traditionally does with a solo chorister singing the first verse of Once in Royal David's City.

Music will include Philip Ledger’s setting of On Christmas Night, Anton Bruckner’s Ave Maria and The Lamb by John Tavener whilst the choir will sing Christmas carols including Unto Us Is Born a Son, O Come All Ye Faithful and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

This will then be followed by members of King’s College reading the story of the Nativity in the words of the King James Bible and in Christmas poems by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, UA Fanthorpe and Howard Thurman.
