Titled Imposter, the four-part series is set in sunny Australia, with drama amping up when a splashy seaside hotel becomes the centre of a bitter family dispute when matriarch Helen refuses to sell, despite pressure from her three adult children.

But what her children don't know is that Helen has a daughter who she gave up for adoption decades ago, and when Amanda suddenly appears, Helen welcomes her into the family with open arms – but is Amanda who she says she is?

The hotel is the ultimate prize and what began as a twisted scheme, soon spirals into betrayal and ultimately, murder. Filming is set to commence in Victoria, Australia this summer, with Neighbours star Woodburne returning to the screen following the conclusion of the soap after 40 years.

Imposter is one of six new series coming to 5, with brand new commissions including Number One Fan, Missed Call and The Family Secret, to returning shows The Hardacres and The Teacher, with Victoria Hamilton set to lead the anthology series.

"From brand new thrillers and character-driven mysteries to the much-anticipated return of audience favourites, we’re continuing to build a rich and distinctive drama offering.

"These titles reflect our commitment to delivering compelling, accessible British drama that resonates with viewers across the UK. We look forward to announcing further titles in the coming months."

Imposter is coming to 5.
