F1 star cast in adaptation of spy classic from House of Cards author
Damson Idris will lead the new Netflix series, The Lords' Day.

After starring opposite Brad Pitt in the Oscar-nominated film F1, Damson Idris has now joined the cast of The Lords' Day, a new Netflix series adapted from the novel by Michael Dobbs.
Dobbs, a Conservative politician and member of the House of Lords, is best known as the author of the House of Cards trilogy, which was previously adapted both as a BBC series in 1990 and as a US Netflix show which ran from 2013.
Idris will also be an executive producer on the series, which comes from Bad Wolf, the production company behind the current era of Doctor Who, as well as shows such as Industry and Dope Girls.
Jane Tranter and Dan McCulloch will be executive producers for Bad Wolf, while Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley (Better) will serve as lead writers and executive producers. Ben Chanan, the creator of The Capture and director of its first season, will serve as director and executive producer on The Lords' Day.

The synopsis for the six-part series calls it a "fast-paced action thriller set at the heart of British power", and says: "On the State Opening of Parliament, British spy Harry Jones (Idris) finds himself inside the iconic building amidst a lockdown.
"As the siege escalates, loyalties are tested and selfless sacrifices are made, leading to a desperate fight for survival where not everyone will emerge alive. Can Harry use his skills and training to be the country’s saviour?"
