Will there be a Cross season 3?
The season 2 finale left Cross in a very different place heading into a potential third season.

*Warning - contains full spoilers for Cross season 2*
The full second season of Cross is now available to stream on Prime Video, and the ending leaves multiple threads hanging to pick up in a potential third season.
There's Kayla's links to previous shady operations and her continued alliance with Bobby Trey; there's Sampson having the chance to meet his father; and, biggest of all, there's Alex leaving the police, having become disillusioned with the US justice system.
But will we get to see how all of this plays out in a season 3, or is this the end of the road for Aldis Hodge's hero?
Read on for everything you need to know about Cross season 3.
Will there be a Cross season 3?

We don't yet know whether there will be a Cross season 3, as the show hasn't been renewed at this point. However, that shouldn't be cause for alarm, and we will hopefully hear some news soon regarding the show's future very soon.
The ending of season 2 certainly sets up another season, with plenty of threads left hanging - not least of which Alex leaving the police, which doesn't feel like it can last for too long before he gets drawn back in.
Previously, creator Ben Watkins teased that he has a "four-year plan" for the show, meaning there are still two seasons which are at least loosely mapped out.
"We want this thing to go for 10 seasons," Watkins told The Hollywood Reporter, "but in my head, I had already made a four-year plan, and it’s based on some things that I want to do to mine and pay homage to the characters that are in the Alex Cross book series.
"Even though I’m doing new stories, I want at some point for there to be a dovetail between these characters, so I’ve been planting these seeds."
We will update this page as and when we get any news regarding the future of Cross.
When would a potential Cross season 3 be released?

It's hard to say exactly when a potential Cross season 3 would be released yet, but we'd imagine the show would stick to a similar timeline to the one it followed between seasons 1 and 2.
There was just over a year between those two seasons being released - 15 months to be exact. If the show were to follow a similar production schedule ahead of season 3, we would therefore expect it to start airing around late spring/early summer 2027.
Of course, this is just speculation for now, and we will keep this page updated with any news as we get it.
Who would star in a potential Cross season 3?

If Cross were to return, then we certainly couldn't imagine it doing so without its title character, the heroic Alex Cross, played by Aldis Hodge.
