007 First Light developer teases sequels with 'spectacular' Patrick Gibson as 007
IO Interactive has hinted 007 First Light is only the start for Patrick Gibson’s James Bond, with more stories potentially on the horizon.

IO Interactive has teased that 007 First Light could be just the beginning for its take on James Bond, with one of the game’s directors praising Patrick Gibson’s performance as the iconic spy and hinting at more stories to come.
Speaking about Dexter: Original Sin star Gibson’s turn as 007, Dominic Vega (missions and audio director on 007 First Light), said the actor has already made a striking impression in the role.
"He has filled the shoes of James Bond spectacularly," Vega told Radio Times. "Patrick’s confidence and his poise are very Bond-like, even just in his own day-to-day, but when he takes on the character, it’s something special and I’m really excited for people to see it."
Gibson’s casting has already prompted plenty of discussion among Bond fans, and Vega’s comments suggest the developer is feeling confident not only about this first outing, but also about the possibility of building something bigger around this version of the character.
In fact, Vega went a step further by suggesting that 007 First Light may not be a one-off.

"We want to see Patrick as Bond for a long time. As a studio, we have a long history of expanding things and remixing, so it’s certainly not the last we’ve seen of Patrick. It is the beginning – it’s up to the audience to decide how that goes, but yeah, more to be discovered."
While Vega stopped short of confirming any direct sequel plans, the suggestion that this is "the beginning" points to a potentially long future for Gibson’s Bond if players connect with the character and the game itself proves a hit.
007 First Light will chart the rise of a younger James Bond as a "resourceful, and sometimes reckless" recruit in MI6’s training programme, whose sharp instincts and bravery in combat secure him a place in the agency’s newly revived 00 section.
IO Interactive has also unveiled a strong cast surrounding Gibson as the young Bond, with Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q and Kiera Lester as Miss Moneypenny. Elsewhere, Lennie James plays Bond’s mentor John Greenway, Noemie Nakai appears as Miss Roth, and Lenny Kravitz takes on the role of villain Bawma.
