You probably think you're pretty good at EA Sports FC, right? Division 2 or 3 in Rivals, win most of your FUT Champs games, win a Gauntlet or two now and then.

Well, compared to the pros competing in EA FC esports, you may as well have never picked up a controller in your life.

These guys are the best of the best; one of them rose to prominence after winning over 500 FUT Champs matches in a row. But thankfully, you too can be as good as these giants of FC.

We caught up with the competitors at the recent FC Pro Open 26 Finals in London and asked them for their top tips on how to improve at FC 26.

Anders Vejrgang

"I know all the other players are playing a lot, and some of them are playing up to eight hours a day, but for me, I play a maximum, I would say, of three hours a day – sometimes just one hour – because I know that it's physically impossible to focus for eight hours.

"So, I prefer to play less and then be focused in the hours I actually play and get the best out of it. And if there is a day, or if there is a time where I don't have the motivation to play, I decide not to play at all, because if you play just by feeling like you are forced to do it, but you actually don't even want to play, you don't get anything out of it.

"I know it sounds like a weird tip, but for me, it's just about not playing too much and just playing when you enjoy it, because that's when you're going to have the most fun and if you're going to have fun, you'll also play better, in my opinion."

ManuBachoore

"Well, first of all, setting targets. So, let's say you get a certain number of wins, then just aim for a little step higher the next time. And always analyse what the best players in the world are doing, and maybe there's something that you will notice and pick up and implement in your own game."

EmreYilmaz

"Watch a lot of pro gameplay – I would say that helped me. And also practise a lot. I played a lot during COVID because we couldn't go outside, and we just played a lot at home and that's how I became good."

"My tip for people is analyse your games. You have now, with PlayStation or Xbox, you can record your games so you can watch what you're doing wrong and your own mistakes.

"Also, be open minded. Maybe you are analysing your games and you say, 'No, this was luck.' It can be, but not always. Sometimes, it's your own fault; be more open-minded to say, 'Hey, it was my fault.'

"And I think, watch some streams, watch videos about the pro tips, or watch the pros."

HHezerS

"Don't be afraid of anyone, and try to learn as much as possible from everyone."

Tuga810

"The best tips I can give to the people, to the audience, to the fans, is to watch more pro content, between live streams, YouTube videos, some tutorials. Ask [the pros] some questions about what I can do best, what I can improve, what I'm doing well.

"But I think that watching how professional players play during the games and how they think – every mechanic they do is because of a reason. So, I think they should focus more on the professional content."

Yaskow

"I don't know if I have any tips, but just try to play the competitions that are open to everyone, like the FC Pro Open, and just give it all and try to be the best."

Nassada

"I would play a lot. This is the first thing you have to do; you have to play a lot. You have to play against better players to get better and better. I think if you just stat playing and you play against worse people, you will not improve.

"And maybe watch pro gameplay so you see what the pros are doing."

Levi de Weerd

"For me, the biggest tip is to invest your time into watching pros play. So, either tutorials on YouTube, TikTok or streams. That's just the easiest way to learn, because otherwise, you will just try to search for things yourself.

"And yeah, the pros, they just know, so it will cost you less time. You still have to invest a bit, but yeah, that's the biggest tip and that's what I did, and that's why I'm here."
