The cast of Directive 8020 includes actors with quite varied experience, most of whom have never been in a game before – here's where you may recognise a few of them from:

Lashana Lynch – Young

The star of Directive 8020, and no doubt the most well-known of its cast, Lashana Lynch is perhaps best known as Nomi, James Bond's replacement as 007 in No Time to Die, as Bianca Pullman in 2024's The Day of the Jackal, and Maria Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Winner of the 2022 BAFTA Rising Star Award, Lynch has also appeared in Matilda the Musical, The Woman King, Bob Marley: One Love, and Still Star-Crossed. Directive 8020 is her first gaming role.

Danny Sapani – Stafford

Danny Sapani will be most familiar to players as Sembene in Penny Dreadful, Jamie in Killing Eve, Tony Morecombe in Misfits, and most fittingly for gamers, as Captain Jacob Keyes in Halo.

He has had supporting roles as first president of Ghana Dr Kwame Nkrumah in The Crown, as well as in productions such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Black Panther films and Doctor Who.

Lotte Verbeek – Eisele

Lotte Verbeek is a Dutch actress, dancer and model, and will be most familiar to international audiences as Guilia Farnese in The Borgias, and Geillis Duncan in Outlander.

Having also appeared in The Fault in Our Stars, Nuremberg, The Last Witch Hunter and The Book of Vision, Directive 8020 is her first gaming role.

Colin Bates – Mitchell

British-American actor Colin Bates is best known for his portrayal of Shane McReynolds, Sergeant at Arms of The Dark Hearts in HBO's Task, as well as recurring roles in American Rust, Mayans MC, and Sneaky Pete.

His film roles include Queer and Carjackers. Directive 8020 is his first role in gaming.

Anna Leong Brophy – Cooper

British actor and comedian Anna Leong Brophy will be most recognisable as Tamar Kir-Bataar in Netflix's Shadow and Bone, along with roles in Ragdoll, Traces and How to Train Your Dragon.

In gaming, she has provided voices for Baldur's Gate 3, Rise of the Rōnin, Total War: Three Kingdoms, Total War: Warhammer 3, Horizon Forbidden West and more. She has also presented the Still Legit podcast with her comedy partner Emily Lloyd-Saini.

Kobna Holdbrook-Smith – Williams

Koba-Holdbrook Smith has appeared in British TV shows since the early 2000s, and is best known as Father Richard Emery in Ghost Stories, Templeton Frye in Marry Poppins Returns, Doctor Wren in Gwen, and Crispus Allen in Justice League and the DC Extended Universe.

More recently, he was Reverend Hillcoate in The Sheep Detectives, Officer Affable in Wonka and Rudolph in Dreaming Whilst Black.

Philip Arditti – Cernan

Actor Philip Arditti first came to prominence as Uday Hussein in 2008 docudrama House of Saddam. Since then, he has had roles in some of the UK's biggest TV shows including Casualty, Spooks, Silent Witness and more.

He is also a prolific theatre actor, appearing in productions at the Royal National Theatre, Soho Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe in the likes of Henry V, Richard III, Salomé and Catch-22.

Kathryn Wilder – Anders

Kathryn Wilder is known for her film roles including Judith Shakespeare in All Is True and Anna in Two Heads Creek, as well as TV roles such as Blair Hartman in True Detective and Chaulk in Frontier.

On stage, she has appeared in various Shakespeare productions including Peta in Romeo and Juliet and Ophelia in Hamlet.

Anneika Rose – Simms

Scottish actor Anneika Rose has appeared in several of the biggest British TV shows in recent years, including as Maggie Kean in Shetland, PC Farida Jatri in Line of Duty, Lila Shariff in Ackley Bridge, and Abhi in Crossfire.

Beyond the screen, she has appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company and others as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Queen Isabel in Richard II.

Frank Blake – Carter

Irish actor Frank Blake is best known for roles such as Alan in Normal People, Shane Bradley in Blue Lights, Seamus Wright in Say Nothing and Captain Declan Fraser in Sanditon.

He has also appeared on stage in an adaptation of Louise O'Neill's Asking For It and the Tennessee Williams play The Glass Menagerie at Dublin's Gate Theatre.
