Crimson Desert sales numbers: Huge Steam pre-order stats revealed
No, these sales numbers are not a mirage.

Players have been flocking to Pearl Abyss’s brand-new IP Crimson Desert, which has some early sales numbers on Steam that have already made the South Korean developer a bunch of money.
Crimson Desert has been in development for years now and players have been eager to find out more about the game and see what it’s actually like to play after all the snippets of gameplay and trickle of information we’ve seen.
It turns out that this intrigue has led to some impressive pre-launch sales numbers.
If you want to see what the fuss is all about, it’s worth checking out our review!
Keep reading to find out what the Crimson Desert sales numbers are and to discover how much money it has made already.
Crimson Desert sales numbers: How much money has it made?
While we cannot know for certain what the Crimson Desert sales numbers are until Pearl Abyss reveals that particular information, we do know that it has sold nearly 400,000 copies on Steam ahead of launch.
This pre-launch sales data was revealed on Alinea Analytics, which revealed on 17 March 2026 that “Crimson Desert was approaching 400K pre-launch copies sold on Steam” as of 16 March.
Before reviews went live, Crimson Desert had sold around 363,000 copies on Steam alone according to Alinea.
That represents “gross revenues of $20m+” on Steam sales alone.
So based on this sales data, Crimson Desert sales numbers are looking healthy ahead of the game’s launch and the game has already made Pearl Abyss over $20m on Steam.
Again, we won’t know for sure how many copies the game has sold until Pearl Abyss or a reliable source tells us.
Crimson Desert player count: What is the peak?
As Crimson Desert goes live at 10pm on 19 March here in the UK, it does not yet have a peak player count on SteamDB.
Thanks to SteamDB, though, we do know that Crimson Desert (at the time of writing) is the number one top seller on Steam.
This isn’t too much of a surprise given the game has had a decent level of hype surrounding it for a long while now – people are intrigued to see what it’s like after all these years of waiting!
Time will tell what the Crimson Desert player count will be on Steam and we’ll update this page when we find out.
We’ll be sure to update this page with new Crimson Desert sales numbers figures and the amount of money it has made when that information becomes available following the game’s full launch at 10pm on 19 March.
