CoD BO7 has already begun teasing information about the Season 1 Zombies map, which is called Astra Malorum.

This map is a huge change from what we see with Ashes of the Damned, as it's set to take place off Earth and is likely to feature some strong references and callbacks to the Zombies storyline while Treyarch begins tying things together.

Here is a full breakdown of what we know about the new map, teasers from Treyarch, and what to expect.

CoD BO7 Astra Malorum release window

Astra Malorum will release for CoD BO7 during Season 1, likely at the start of the Season on 4th December 2025. This is what we saw with Black Ops 6's DLC modes and the map will be completely free for everyone to play.

The map has already been revealed and was being teased by Treyarch just days after the game's release. This reveal confirms the rumours and leaks from The Ghost of Hope, a well-known Call of Duty leaker, who said this map is set on a space observatory on a skull.

This intro cinematic is pretty insane with the crew being fired out of the Entity's mouth from the easter egg of Ashes of the Damned inside Tessie.

With rocket propelled thrusters, Tessie barrels towards the space observatory and lands on the skull rock with the observatory, setting us up for the start of the map, which will begin outside the observatory, before we move inside.

This map seems to be pulling together a lot of the lore and details from across the different games and storylines to hopfully deliver a satisfying conclusion to the story.

CoD BO7 Astra Malorum Teasers

Before the trailer, Treyarch had already begun teasing Astra Malorum with posters of various artefacts from the Zombies timeline. They seem to be on display at the Thurston Planetarium Exhibition on the space station. These include the first teaser which references Josiah Shem who was a key figure in CoD Black Ops 6's Zombies storyline.

Following that, the next teaser references a relic fragment, which doesn't appear to have any known reference to an existing storyline or set of characters, so we could have a mixture of items seen before in Zombies or tied to previous stories and new ones.

This next teaser could suggest the return of Element 115 to the storyline, given its a mineral deposit. The element hasn't been seen for years in the modern Zombies storyline and the intro cinematic seems to confirm its return.

These teasers will keep coming and we plan to keep this article up to date with the latest information as and when Treyarch reveals it. We should get a full gameplay trailer before December arrives with more teasers from Treyarch likely to come in the next few days.
