First taking place in 2004, the BAFTA Games Awards have celebrated the achievements of the British and international games industry for more than two decades.

Now, after two years with comedian and Great British Menu star Phil Wang at the helm, it has been confirmed that hosting duties will be taken over by content creator Elz the Witch.

Elz, who has made a career making gaming videos on YouTube and social media, is no stranger to hosting, having presented events such as the Sidemen Charity Match, as well as featuring regularly on the likes of Kerrang Radio and Kiss Xtra.

On the opportunity, Elz said, "I am beyond excited to be hosting this year's BAFTA Games Awards. Gaming has been a part of my life since I first picked up a controller at eight years old, and to now stand on that stage and honour the people who create the magic is a dream come true.

"This industry is about creativity, community and breaking boundaries, things I strive for every day in my own work. I can't wait to celebrate the incredible nominees and share this unforgettable night with players all over the world."

Following tremendous successes at the The Game Awards and Golden Joystick Awards, among others, French studio Sandfall Interactive leads the pack with 12 nominations for its landmark RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

On the night, it will be competing for best game with ARC Raiders, Blue Prince, Dispatch, Ghost of Yōtei and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Elsewhere, Expedition 33 will be hoping for another sweep of acting gongs, with Jennifer English and Ben Starr up for performer in a leading role, and Charlie Cox and Kirsty Rider for performer in a supporting role.

The BAFTA Games Awards take place on 17 April 2026.
