Animated fantasy adventure with the voice of Mae Whitman. The tiny fairy ventures into the magical Winter Woods where she discovers a new friend and finds that her home, Pixie Hollow, is under threat.
The petite pixie lands herself in more big trouble in another pleasing if inessential entry in the animated fantasy series. This time Tinkerbell's nose for adventure takes her away from the security of Pixie Hollow to the forbidden Winter Woods, where she befriends a long-lost family member. However, by defying the rules, Tink ends up putting the lives of all the fairies in jeopardy. Colourfully animated with some moderate thrills and plenty of giggles, this yarn serves its audience of under-10s efficiently and without any unwelcome surprises. It may miss a trick in teaching youngsters about the perils of climate change (Happy Feet 2 is positively hard-hitting by comparison), and also lacks some of the squabbling banter of previous instalments, but the film's messages of friendship, co-operation and reconciliation are all adeptly handled with that trusted Disney touch.
