In 1960s Paris, a conservative couple's lives are turned upside down by a group of Spanish maids that live in the same building.
In 1960s Paris, stuffy middle-class couple Fabrice Luchini and Sandrine Kiberlain hire a wholesome and attractive Spanish maid (Natalia Verbeke), only to find their lives permanently changed by her friends, who all live and work in the same apartment building. But what starts out as a lively interchange between cultures, sexes and classes quickly degrades into stereotype, suspicion and infidelity as buttoned-up stockbroker Luchini must, of course, discover there is more to life than propriety. Despite some charming moments and a burgeoning sense of fun, this social comedy is really nothing more than your common-or-garden middle-aged sex fantasy in period guise. The ending is unbelievable and tacky, and let's just say that this is not a film that will endear itself to a female audience.
