Adventure based on a true story. American couple Ron and Debbie Plotkin are caught up in an avalanche while hiking in the Himalayas. Not worrying about their own survival chances, the couple's only thought is to find and rescue the sherpa guides buried beneath the snow.
Although it bears the stamp of Francis Ford Coppola as one of the executive producers, this is a no-more-than-formulaic made-for-TV adventure. Dennis Boutsikaris (who played Woody Allen in the 1995 Mia Farrow TV mini-series biopic) and Markie Post play the American couple hiking in the Himalayas who get caught up in an avalanche. The settings are spectacular, but the "against all odds" struggle never really grips and the direction is predictable. Incidentally, Billy Crystal for some reason also served as an executive producer on this project.
