Prominent figures from both sides of the US political line take part in this documentary about the life and work of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a Supreme Court Justice who has spent decades fighting for equality. Ginsburg's status as something of an icon for a new generation is explored, as are the actions that gained her such a reputation, while directors Julie Cohen and Betsy West showcase Ginsburg's devotion to her work, the famous cases she argued, and her admirers, which include fellows judges, writers and presidents. These testimonies are complemented by the woman herself, who is pleasingly humble and sincere in her recollections of even the most monumental achievements, although one minor quibble is that any criticisms (such as her vocal condemnation of Donald Trump's Presidential candidacy) are only briefly touched upon. Were it about a less impressive figure, RBG might have felt fawning in its praise. However, with facts to back up the adulation, the documentary is a fitting celebration of a life spent bettering the world.
