Dolphin Tale 2

The true-life story of a dolphin named Winter and her prosthetic tail continues in this sweet and satisfying follow-up to the surprise 2011 family hit. Like the first film, this sequel's infectiously upbeat tone and laudable message is hard not to fall for, as Winter and the marine biologists who saved her come to the assistance of another injured dolphin (called Hope) and get caught up in a regulatory nightmare. All the original cast return (including Harry Connick Jr, Ashley Judd and Sawyer Nelson) and give earnest performances that keep potential sentimentality at bay, while the return of Morgan Freeman's kindly prosthetics expert adds class to proceedings. But in the end, it's the feel-good animal antics that will appeal and keep the audience on edge once peril rears its ugly head.
