Michael Wood is professor of public history at the University of Manchester. He has presented numerous BBC series and has made more than 100 documentary films. He is the author of several highly praised books on English history, including <em>In Search of the Dark Ages</em>, <em>Domesday</em>, and <em>In Search of England</em>.
