John Humphrys rapped to a grime track on the Today programme and everyone thinks they’re still asleep
Did that really just happen?

You know that strange experience when you wake up in the morning and start going about your daily business, until something inexplicably weird happens and you realise you’re still asleep? Well it seems to have happened en mass to a number of Radio 4 listeners today…
Reports on Twitter suggest that numerous people had a waking dream in which they heard irascible Today presenter John Humphrys rapping in a section on the current affairs show about grime music.
Clearly this couldn’t actually have happened – as most, but not all, of them seem to have realised…
Someone tell me I didn't just hear John Humphrys on @BBCr4today doing an impression of a grime artist. Hurry, starting to think it was real

Have woken up to a world in which John Humphrys raps over Grime – sometimes it's best not to sleep. #FridayFeeling

Of course, real or not, the phenomenon does raise some important questions…
