Former Doctor Who star Matt Smith has proved he’s an Ice Warrior by publicly being drenched in water in the name of charity.
It’s the latest social media craze that’s doing some good, with celebrities around the world filming themselves pouring ice buckets over their heads to raise awareness and money for illness ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease and Motor Neurone Disease, a condition that attacks the spinal cord.
Smith has a helping hand from a friend, who stands on top of a post box to get the right height for the challenge.
“I’m going to get very wet,” Smith laughs saying he’ll make a donation before nominating… yep, you guessed it his Downton Abbey star girlfriend Lily James. Plus, actor James Cartwright gets a nom and he couldn’t let his other former Doctor Who stars off the hook, so challenges actress Karen Gillan, too.
