If you want a measure of this sequel's subtlety, it's in the opening scene when a deer pees into Adam Sandler's mouth. But if you laughed at the original film, you'll probably laugh at this ghastly follow-up that finds Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James and David Spade indulging in the same mind-numbing mix of childish slapstick and excessive toilet humour, again under the direction of Dennis Dugan. The plot is almost incidental, following Sandler's hotshot Hollywood agent as he moves his family back to the town he grew up in and picking up where he left off with his old pals. On the eve of the school summer break, midlife mishaps ensue, with japes including that incontinent deer, a twice-repeated inflatable-raft joke, a soft-porn school ballet recital and a guy who "excretes"chocolate ice cream. When Taylor Lautner is the cameo star turn, you know you're in trouble. Dreadful.
