Robert is targeted once more by his twisted half-brother.

*Warning: Contains spoilers for Wednesday 30th July's episode of Emmerdale now available on ITVX*
Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is about to fall foul of his twisted half-brother John (Oliver Farnworth) once more in Wednesday's (30th July 2025) Emmerdale.
After another round of nightmares, Robert is defensive when half-sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) tries to convince him to seek help.
When Vic gets chatting to John, he relays Robert's words to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), with Robert having failed to convince his ex-mother-in-law that John's habit of playing the hero is too good to be true.
Little does Chas know that John has been engineering scenarios in order to save lives, and that he has even killed for it.
John offers to ask Doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) to check in on Robert.

But before Liam does so, John sneaks into Keeper's cottage and leaves a listening device there.
As Liam gently probes into Robert's fragile mental health, the result of a traumatic time in prison, John sits in his van of death, listening in.
Meanwhile, new villain Ray (played by Joe Absolom) accosts Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), looking for Robert.
It's not long before Ray tracks him down, and John hears an incriminating conversation that could land Robert in hot water.
John is gleeful to finally have some dirt on Robert, and with the latter having sold off Ross Barton's (Michael Parr) weed plants to Ray, how will this come back to haunt him?
Robert is at his sassy best over the course of the episode, but the smirk is set to be wiped off his face in dramatic fashion, with strong performances from Hawley along the way.
However this week pans out, Robert is set to reconnect with his ex-husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), who is currently married to John.
Is there hope yet for 'Robron'?
