A new multi-year agreement between F1 and the broadcaster was announced on Wednesday (6 May), which will see Sky Sports remain the home of the sport in the UK and Ireland.

As part of the deal, Sky and NOW will have exclusive live coverage of every practice, qualifying, sprint, and race until the end of the 2034 season – a five-year extension on the previous deal.

Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 ACADEMY and Porsche Supercup are included in the agreement with Sky

The broadcaster has also confirmed its plans for free-to-air coverage in a major boost for UK viewers.

Highlights of every Grand Prix and live coverage of the British Grand Prix will continue to be free-to-air in the UK until the end of the 2034 season.

Channel 4 has broadcast F1 since 2016, when BBC relinquished the rights early due to budget cuts.

Sky Sports became the UK home of the sport in 2019 and enjoyed a record-breaking season in 2025.

"We’re proud of the role we’ve played in supporting the sport’s growth through world-class storytelling, innovation and long-term investment," said Sky Group CEO Dana Strong.

"This new agreement secures Sky as the home of Formula 1 for years to come, as the sport enters an exciting era with more British talent on the grid and rising stars like Kimi Antonelli."

Stefano Domenicali, President & CEO of Formula 1, added: "Sky has always been a dedicated, trusted and passionate partner since we began our relationship many years ago.

"Their world leading approach to live broadcasting, content creation, behind-the-scenes analysis led by a truly amazing group of on-screen talent has made the difference in continuing to grow our sport in the UK, Ireland and Italy and I am delighted we will be taking our partnership into the next decade."
