Game of Wool: Britain's Best Knitter is a competitive knitting series hosted by passionate knitter and Olympic champion Tom Daley, and follows talented creatives in the Scottish countryside as they compete in a series of knitting challenges, all hoping to be crowned the next TV knitting champion.

The recommission comes following the success of its debut run, which ranked among their top 8pm shows for 16 to 34 year olds last year.

Tom Daley will return as host once more, bringing his trademark enthusiasm for knitting back to the competition, with special guests along the way.

"I was blown away by the response to the first series of Game of Wool," said Daley of the show's return. "Knitting is such a creative and joyful craft and it’s been amazing to see so many people inspired to pick up their needles.

"I can’t wait for the show to return and to meet a whole new group of brilliant knitters ready to take on the challenge."

Di Gilpin and Sheila Greenwell will also remain part of the wider Game of Wool family and will continue to feature on the Let's Get Knitting YouTube channel, Hello Halo's digital companion to the series.

Clemency Green, commissioning editor at Channel 4, commented: "The first series of Game of Wool was a hit with viewers, particularly with a new generation of young knitters discovering the craft. For series two, we’re welcoming a fresh group of talented makers ready to take on the challenge.

"We’ve listened closely to what fans loved most about the first series, so this time there’s an even stronger focus on knitting - celebrating the creativity, skill and innovation at its heart, alongside some exciting new elements in the competition."

Meanwhile, Hello Halo commented: "We're thrilled to be returning with a second series of Game of Wool. Get ready for even more aspirational knits, challenges packed with history and technique, and a brand-new cast of passionate knitters ready to step into the Yarn Barn."

Fancy your chances? Casting for season 2 is now open and if you think you have what it takes to compete, you can apply now.
