The Pitt's Noah Wyle speaks out on cast exit for season 3 following surprise announcement
"We’re going to miss her."

Fans of The Pitt were shocked earlier this month when it was reported that Supriya Ganesh, who has played senior resident Dr Samira Mohan since the show's first episode, would be leaving ahead of the upcoming season 3.
It has been reported that the character's departure was story driven, and now Dr Robby star Noah Wyle has confirmed this once again, when reacting to the news.
Asked about Ganesh's departure by Variety, Wyle said: "It’s an inevitability that’s going to happen every season with this show because as writers we’re hard pressed to figure out what a lapse of time we can have and keep most of the ensemble together realistically. Emergency rooms have a high revolving door.
"As always, we try to bring in new characters or promote from within as we go through these cast changes and try to keep the storylines fresh, but obviously Supriya has been a huge part of our show since the beginning.
"Dr Mohan is a beloved character, and I love playing with her and working with Supriya, and we wish her all the best in her next endeavours, and we’re going to miss her."

Meanwhile, the show's creator R Scott Gemmill told the publication: "It’s sort of the nature of the show. Unfortunately, the way the medical profession works, you come in, you learn, you move on, and we want to try and be as truthful to that process as possible.
"So we’re going to turn over our cast. But I think it’s a great launching pad for people and that’s the best we can do."
Ganesh's departure appears similar to that of Tracy Ifeachor, who played major character Dr Heather Collins in season 1, but did not return for season 2.
After her departure was announced, Gemmill told PEOPLE: "We always had a plan for that sort of trajectory for that character. The show is set in a teaching hospital. People come and go all the time."

While Ganesh might be leaving, another star is getting a promotion to be a series regular.
Ayesha Harris who has played night shift senior resident Dr Parker Ellis in episodes of both seasons 1 and 2, will be part of the main cast for season 3, with her character transferring to the day shift.
The Pitt season 1 is available to watch on HBO Max in the UK now. Season 2 continues releasing new episodes weekly on Thursdays.
