Eleanor Matsuura – DI Hopkins
Meet DI Hopkins Not one of the show's major players but a reminder that Greg Lestrade is not the only Scotland Yard copper to have cottoned on to the fact that Sherlock is a crime-solving machine. Along with Lestrade, Hopkins can be found lurking outside Sherlock's door, clutching her case files, ready for him to supply the solutions (probably without even looking up to acknowledge her presence).

What else has Eleanor Matsuura been in? Matsuura is no stranger to crime-fighting roles, having starred as MI5 officer Hannah Soto in Spooks: The Greater Good and – alongside fellow Sherlock actor Amanda Abbington – as PC Donna Prager in BBC police drama Cuffs. You may also know Matsuura from roles in Utopia, Da Vinci's Demons and Russell T Davies's recent BBC reworking of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
