John Simm confirms fallout to cliffhanger in Grace season 6 – and the "huge mistake" Roy makes
"He's a good guy, Grace, but I don't agree with him when he keeps these secrets."

The fifth season of Grace ended on a major cliffhanger, with Grace being delivered a threat from the Benchdale gang via his former boss and now-imprisoned corrupt cop Cassian Pewe – Grace's late wife Sandy owed them money and now, they will be coming for her son, Bruno.
Speaking at a Q&A for season 6, John Simm has teased that this threat will be hanging over Grace's head in the new episodes, as will Cassian's betrayal.
"The fallout from the Cassian Pewe debacle is still hanging over everybody," Simm said. "We're being investigated and also that chilling warning that he gives at the end of the last series, that the Benchdale gang will be coming for Bruno. So we find him and Glenn with that hanging over them, really.
"We're straight into a new case, every week it's a new case, but in the background is this spectre of Albazi and this threat that he's put to Grace, who, I have to say, makes a huge mistake and doesn't tell Cleo. He's a good guy, Grace, but I don't agree with him when he keeps these secrets. So that's where we find him."

Meanwhile, Simm's co-star Richie Anderson, who plays Glenn Branson, added of the new season: "The morale of the team's quite low. They're being investigated after what happened with Cassian Pewe. In [Glenn's] personal life, Ari was being investigated for misconduct, so there's a lot going on.
"And, on top of that, like John said, at the forefront is Albazi and everyone's saying that they're coming for Bruno. So there's a lot going on, and we've got the case of the week, so to speak. So, you're finding them in really tense scenarios. I think that's what spurs them on to go, 'Right, we need to do something. We need to act fast.'"
The synopsis for the first episode of season 6 says: "The aftermath of ACC Cassian Pewe’s betrayal hangs heavily over East Sussex Police. As several months on, Grace’s team is in the midst of an anti-corruption enquiry while Roy (Simm) wrestles with whether to trust Cassian’s intel about Sandy’s murder and the threat to Bruno’s life.
"His team is plunged into a case filled with secrets after Eden (Tamla Kari), the wife of Brighton property developer Neel, is reported missing by her distraught husband. A terrifying voicemail left on her best friend’s phone suggests Eden may have been taken against her will and signs at the couple’s house point to a disturbance.
"When Neel (Rishi Nair) reveals he’s recently been threatened by a local crook in connection with his housing development, Roy believes this to be the cause, but an emerging trail of evidence soon points to something more sinister, and Grace delves into Neel and Eden’s life to understand what happened that night. Roy must unravel what is real and what is false in a tangled case where everyone has something to hide."
