Dutton Ranch: Release date, cast and latest news for Yellowstone spin-off
Beth and Rip's story continues in this latest expansion of the Yellowstone world.

The Yellowstone world is always expanding – but Dutton Ranch brings back fan favourites for their own, new story. So, when is the release date?
While past spin-offs, including 1883 and 1923, focused on the past, Taylor Sheridan’s cowboy universe will next take a ride over to life with Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.
As one of the most beloved couples to appear on the original series, Beth and Rip’s story is set to continue after leaving Montana and heading to Texas.
But nothing in their lives is ever easy, and soon they’re set to meet new friends and enemies as they try to put the past behind them.
So yes, hold onto your cowboy hats, folks.

What is the plot of Dutton Ranch?

In Dutton Ranch, Beth and Rip have moved to South Texas, where they hope to put the ghosts of Yellowstone behind them forever.
However, as they fight to build a future together, they find themselves going head-to-head with a rival ranch that is determined to defend its empire.
According to the official synopsis: "In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul."
Good job these two aren't people to mess with – and aren't likely to fold under the pressure.
Let the fun begin.
But while comparisons will naturally be made with its predecessor, Hauser emphasised to Radio Times that the two shows are "totally different really".
"The bunkhouse is gone, the topography has changed – we’re in Texas now," he explained. "The cast has changed. And the evolution of these characters… there's Beth Rip and Carter, and it's how we get along in this new world.
"And other than Christina Varos, who was director of photography in Yellowstone season 1 and has now gone to be a director and executive producer, everything has changed. The whole world has changed."
But while that might not be music to fans' ears, Hauser believes that makes it "special".
"It is different and takes a minute to find your feet, but as you get into the season it felt more and more natural," he added.
While Beth and Rip's story is far from over, co-lead Kelly Reilly told Radio Times that she didn't think the spin-off would ever get off the ground, despite the will to make it happen.
"There were so many conversations happening over the years, I didn't actually think it would ever happen," she said. "Because I think, you know, people move on, there are different shows to be made.
"And we had really completed Yellowstone. I felt that the ending was very satisfying – the Curse of the ranch handed back to where it should have been, and she got to protect it from being turned into an airport or a ski resort or whatever they wanted to do.
"And she says to her dad, "We won," at his coffin. It really felt like an ending."

Reilly also felt that Beth, Rip and Carter leaving for Montana "to live sort of quietly felt like a new beginning for them".
"So I knew where they were. It felt like a natural, really great ending," she said. But also, them leaving for pastures new was a "natural beginning".
"Do we just see their life in Montana? Are we just watching them just be peaceful, or do we take all of it away and get them to start again," she added. "And that then really sort of felt like it was ripping off the plaster and like really going for something different.
"And just as Cole and I are starting again in a new show, in a new world, new cast, new crew, new location… it lent itself to what we were experiencing as well, which is, okay, we're taking on these characters that we know really well, but putting them in something completely different, and it just felt like the most authentic way into a new show."
So, when will we be reunited with the couple? And who else is joining them in this new chapter?
