Ballard cast: Who stars in Prime Video's Bosch spin-off?
The Bosch spin-off series is now streaming.
While many fans of Bosch: Legacy may have been dreaming of another season, at least an expansion of the Bosch universe is here.
A new chapter for fans, Ballard is the Prime Video series focusing on Renée Ballard (played by Maggie Q), who made her debut in the third season of Bosch: Legacy.
We always knew that season 3 of Bosch: Legacy would set up the spin-off "very well", with a previous interview with Titus Welliver explaining as much.
He said: "You meet Ballard. You see she and Bosch work together. You see their certain similarities. And so it sets up her character very well, but it does not have any closure or any sense of goodbye to it."
The new series follows Ballard as she heads up LAPD's new and underfunded cold case division, which will see the new protagonist "navigate personal trauma, professional challenges, and life-threatening dangers to expose the truth".

Maggie Q as Detective Renée Ballard
Who is Detective Renée Ballard? Having met Renée in Bosch season 3, this new series focuses on her work heading up a new LAPD cold case task force. While it is underfunded and the cases prove to be very challenging, Renée starts discovering new things about these long-forgotten crimes, uncovering an LAPD conspiracy in the process.
Where have I seen Maggie Q? Q is best known for her roles in films like Mission: Impossible III, the Divergent film series and The Protégé, as well as TV series like Nikita, Designated Survivor and Stalker.
Titus Welliver as Harry Bosch
Who is Harry Bosch? At the helm of the Bosch series since their inception, Harry is now a private investigator after retiring from his long-held job as a homicide detective. Although he's retired, he starts to assist Ballard as things take a sinister turn.
Where have I seen Titus Welliver? Welliver is best known for his roles in Lost, Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, Argo and Gone Baby Gone. He has also starred in Ricky, Watchmen, The Good Wife and Nova Vita.
Courtney Taylor as Samira Parker
Who is Samira Parker? Samira has returned after turning her back on the police force five years ago. She's got an unwavering sense of justice and is committed to bringing peace to victims and families who have been forgotten.
Where have I seen Courtney Taylor? Taylor is known for her roles in Insecure, Abbott Elementary, The Company You Keep and Shrinking. She has also starred in Neon, Send Help and The Invitation.
John Carroll Lynch as Thomas Laffont
Who is Thomas Laffont? A retired former police partner of Ballard's who returns to the LAPD to help her run the cold case department.
Where have I seen John Carroll Lynch? Lynch is known for his roles in American Horror Story, The Drew Carey Show and in 1996's Fargo. He has also starred in Big Sky, One Dollar and films like Shutter Island, The Founder and The Trial of the Chicago 7.
Michael Mosley as Ted Rawls
Who is Ted Rawls? Ted is a reserve officer who has reluctantly been assigned to cold cases to keep an eye on Ballard by the powers that be.
Where have I seen Michael Mosley? Mosley is known for his roles in Ozark, Criminal Minds, Pan Am, 2014's Sirens and The Sinner. He has also starred in The Girl from Plainville, Next and Seven Seconds.
