Twilight icon Robert Pattinson calls out classic love triangle: "No one’s Team Jacob"
I mean, he's not wrong.

Twilight icon Robert Pattinson has called out the franchise's classic love triangle and finally put a long-running fan debate to rest.
The first Twilight book was released in 2005 with the film adaptation following shortly after in 2008, and since the franchise's conception there has only ever been one question on fans' lips: "'Team Edward' or 'team Jacob'?"
The films were the breakout roles for both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, who played Edward and Jacob respectively. One a werewolf and the other a vampire, the two hunks were pitted against each other (both on and off the screen) to be the perfect mate for co-star Kristen Stewart, who played the film's lead Bella Swan.
Now, whilst promoting his new film The Drama with co-star Zendaya, Pattinson has finally put the age old question to rest.

Whilst in Paris, Zendaya was posed the question by a reporter for France's Canal+ to which she, obviously, responded: "I'm 'team Edward', all day, let's go!"
With Pattinson sat next to her, sporting a very smug expression, she could hardly say anything else.
The question then turned to Pattinson himself, who answered whilst laughing: "No one's 'team Jacob!'"
"That was just a marketing thing," he added.

The female reporter, who was obviously a fan of the films, then drops the bomb that she was actually 'team Jacob' before hastily apologising. Pattinson responded playfully by incredulously rolling his eyes and branding her "crazy".
Pattinson has been very vocal about Twilight over the nearly 15 years since the last film was released, namely about his disdain for his character Edward. In an interview in 2009 with OK! Magazine, he called the character a "weirdo", adding: "If Edward wasn’t a fictional character and you met him in reality, he is like one of those guys who would probably be an axe murderer or something."
Not only did his character win the affections of Bella on screen, but Pattinson himself won the heart of co-star Kristen Stewart, with the duo dating sporadically for a period of four years from 2009 to 2013.
Now the actor is married to fellow Brit, singer and actress Suki Waterhouse, with whom he welcomed his first child, a daughter, in 2024.
The Drama will be released in UK cinemas on Friday 3 April. All five movies in the Twilight franchise are available to watch on Prime Video.
