The Carrier

A disparate (and desperate) group of survivors takes to the skies to escape a population-culling pandemic in this low-budget British thriller. Edmund Kingsley (son of Ben) plays the 747 pilot striving to remain airborne while keeping the uninfected passengers away from the contagiously lumpy and mumpy, while manic paranoia and suspicion spread as quickly as the disease. Anthony Woodley's sophomore feature has a committed cast but compared to similarly themed films like Outbreak, Contagion and The Crazies, it's not particularly scary, and budgetary limitations mean much of the underpowered drama occurs either inside the aircraft or at an airfield where the plane stops to refuel.
