Every so often, a film comes along that takes so weird a turn that it completely discombobulates the viewer. Spring is such a film. Lou Taylor Pucci plays a young American whose wanderlust lands him in a small Italian coastal town. There he meets and falls for fathomless local Nadia Hilker. So far, so normal. But then the film takes a twist that must remain unspecified. Suffice to say that it involves a definite touch of the horrors and that fans of HP Lovecraft will probably approve. Part romance, part creep-out, Spring is hard to put a label on. But most films rarely spring such a surprise, making this worth taking a risk on.
