Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, lands surprise new TV role on "beloved" series
Markle filmed the cameo during a visit to Australia.

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, will appear as a guest judge in the upcoming season premiere of MasterChef Australia.
Markle filmed her cameo on the programme during a visit to Australia with her husband, Prince Harry, and marks the first time they have returned to the country since their royal state visit in 2018.
“As part of her first Australian visit since 2018, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, featured as a guest judge on the country’s most beloved cooking show,” show producers said in a statement.
“Meghan mentored and guided our nation’s top home cooks alongside MasterChef Australia judges, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli.”
Markle isn’t the first royal to have appeared on the cookery programme, with King Charles having had a surprise cameo in 2018, during his Australia tour with his wife Camilla.

While a first appearance for the actor-turned-royal, this isn’t completely out of her repertoire, having fronted With Love, Meghan on Netflix.
The series followed Markle as she let audiences into the kitchen and garden for how-to's and conversations around food, hosting and more.
The first season of With Love, Megan reached the Top 10 in 24 countries, and had 5.3 million views in the first half of 2025, making it Netflix's most watched culinary show since its release.
The second season, which debuted last year, continued to reimagine “the genre of lifestyle programming," with the synopsis stating that it's "blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old.
"Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same."
