Marcella star's "devastating" new BBC drama Unforgivable releases first look trailer
Anna Friel and Anna Maxwell Martin lead the series, which comes from creator Jimmy McGovern.

The first trailer has been released for new BBC drama Unforgivable, which features an all-star cast and comes from acclaimed writer Jimmy McGovern.
The trailer introduces us to Joe, as played by Bobby Schofield, a man who has served his prison sentence after committing a devastating act of abuse.
He is seen having a therapy session with Anna Maxwell Martin's therapist character at the institution where he is offered a home and rehabilitation after he is released, as well as coming face to face with his family once more.

Alongside the trailer's release, the BBC has now also confirmed when the drama series will air.

The series will debut in full on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Thursday 24th July, before the first episode airs later that day on BBC Two.
As well as Schofield and Martin, the series also stars Marcella's Anna Friel, who plays Joe's sister Anna, Austin Haynes and Fin MaParland, who play her sons, and David Threlfall, who plays her father Brian.

The series is set and filmed in Liverpool, and the synopsis says that it "examines the extensive ripple effect of abuse from multiple perspectives and how those involved can try to move forwards in the midst of the devastation."
The cast also includes Mark Womack (The Responder), Paddy Rowan (This Town) and Phina Oruche (Magpie Murders), all of whom are in supporting roles.
Unforgivable will arrive on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Thursday 24th July, and air on BBC Two from 9pm that evening.
