Sam West introduces Ade Edmondson to birding in exclusive first look at new series
Sam & Ade Go Birding starts on Tuesday.

All Creatures Great and Small star Samuel West and actor Adrian Edmondson are heading off on some weekend adventures around the country to spot and celebrate Britain's beautiful birds in a brand new three-part series.
Kicking off tomorrow (14 April), the good friends set off on a spectacular birdwatching quest across the British Isles. For West, birding is a long-standing passion of his and for Edmondson, the hobby is something new – and West is showing him the ropes.
In an exclusive clip shared with Radio Times, the long-time friends are seen walking along looking for a common firecrest and a goldcrest, the latter of which West shares has the weight of five playing cards.
The pair continue their travels as they spot firecrests, but Edmondson takes some time to adjust to the binoculars and figure out how to be speedy enough to spot the birds.
You can watch the full clip below.
Elsewhere in the episode, West introduces Edmondson to birding on the wild coast of West Cornwall, where autumn storms can bring rare transatlantic visitors.
The pair start their journey at Hayle Estuary, as Edmondson gets to grips with egrets, wigeon and curlews, before heading to the rugged Kenidjack Valley in search of lost American birds – though it's a tiny firecrest and a friendly robin that steal the show.
Elsewhere in remote West Cornwall, the pair search for the chough, and hope for exotic wind-blown foreign visitors. They then go on a 'wild goose chase' in north Norfolk and on the Somerset Levels they set out on a quest to find the elusive 'booming' bittern'.
But it’s not all about the birds. Edmondson's love of cooking and a pint means that picnics and pubs are just as essential to the success of the trip – and there's plenty over the next few episodes!
