Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) is to be left badly hurt when his loft conversion goes dramatically wrong.
In scenes to be shown on Monday 25 August, the building work will begin on No 9 Coronation Street, only for Tyrone to fall through the boarding into the bedroom below, where he lies unconscious.
After he finally comes to, Ty realises that he’s beneath fallen debris and calls for help. Jason (Ryan Thomas) calls in and phones for an ambulance and it isn’t long before Tyrone is being rushed to hospital.
But when Gary (Mikey North) learns of what has happened, he angrily points the finger at Todd (Bruno Langley), blaming him for the accident because he used sub-standard boards. Tony (Terence Maynard) is horrified when he realises that Jason could be in real trouble.
With Tyrone unable to work for six weeks, the implications really hit home as he and Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) worry about how they’ll manage financially. Visiting him in hospital, a devastated Jason blames himself for the disaster. But will Todd end up telling Jason the truth about the accident – or will Tony force him to keep schtum?
