Neil Newbon, one of the most famous voices in gaming with credits on Baldur’s Gate 3, Resident Evil Village, Detroit: Become Human and so much more, is backing a Kickstarter campaign for "a very unique game".

The game is titled Where Birds Sleep, and not only is Neil starring in the project, but he is also helping to produce the game, which he describes as a "borderline psychological horror branching narrative role-playing game".

"Disco Elysium may have touched on things like this, but it is pretty extraordinary," Neil explained. "The main protagonist essentially can disagree with you."

You, the player, shape the protagonist, Cormo (played by Neil), with your choices as he begins a gruelling journey to explore an island covered in mind-altering fog. But as much as you try to direct his fate, Cormo can always disagree.

Created by indie developer Quiet Little Feet, made up of Veronika Šuchterová and Martin Šuchter, Where Birds Sleep will be the debut game from the studio.

According to Neil, the subject matter is very adult and may be a challenge for some players: "I would not say it's a walk in the park. But it's a really interesting story and I urge people to play it.

"I think this Kickstarter is going to be really beneficial, because I think it's gonna give you a very unique game.

"If you're into the weird and unusual, and you want a gaming experience that isn't just, you know, the big AAA stuff that you may have got too familiar with at times, this is definitely for you."

If you want to support the project, the Kickstarter will be live shortly, and you can follow updates via Quiet Little Feet’s website.
