All the main breakthroughs in the case so far have been made by forensic examiner Clarissa from the comfort of her wheelchair back at the lab. Clarissa is a welcome addition to the team and that rare thing, a disabled character whose disability is never referred to or made an issue of.
But that’s by the by: more pressing is the task of catching a serial killer who uses forensic know-how to put the police off his scent. Mind you, they don’t need much putting off, being a venal and/or lunk-headed bunch. Luckily our forensic gang are pursuing their own lines of enquiry, which bring about the
arrival of Penny Downie in a variety of wigs.
