Gordon’s new show isn’t about being a chef. It’s about being a home cook, and he’s here to hold your hand as you tentatively grasp the saucepan. Based on 100 core recipes, this series concentrates on building confidence. If you’d usually just bung a chicken in the oven, Gordon’s got a recipe for a “very charming” version stuffed with chorizo and cannellini beans instead; if you fear the heat that emanates from a hot frying pan, he’s here to reassure you that without that hot hot hiss, things just ain’t cooking. This cookery course is almost as well-stuffed as Gordon’s chicken.
