What is the plot of The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King?

The official story synopsis for the Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King’s anime is just as the same as the manga: introducing Serafina as the captain of the First Knight Order of the Kingdom of Ildren.

During a retreat in the eastern campaign, she challenges the barbarian chieftain Veor to single combat and is completely defeated. Afterwards, while Serafina expects to be treated as spoils of war, Veor instead sincerely asks for her hand in marriage — being an altogether blend of dark fantasy, culture-clash comedy, and a very unlikely romance.
