The new Disney+/ Hulu series, currently going by the working title Castle Man, will follow the Picture Slam comedian as he attempts to find, buy and run a historic castle.

A synopsis for the show reads: “With Alan’s 50th birthday fast approaching, he finds himself at a moment of reckoning, taking stock of where he is and where he wants to be.

“He has long dreamed of owning a grand château, but after a transformative and iconic stay at The Traitors‘ castle, that fantasy will now become a reality – or will it?"

The synopsis continues: "He doesn’t just want to visit a castle, he wants to build a life in one, a leap of faith driven entirely by Alan himself.”

Carr said in a statement: “Some men, when they have a midlife crisis, buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me? I want my very own castle."

He continued: "Since I was a boy in Northampton, I’ve always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn 50, I feel it’s my time.

"All I want is a turret to call my own – get me over that drawbridge!”

This new adventure comes after Carr's success on the first season of The Celebrity Traitors last year.

After becoming one of the Traitors early on in the competition, Carr went on to deceive his fellow contestants and become the sole winner of the star-studded spin-off.

He also fronts a BBC renovation series alongside Amanda Holden, with Amanda & Alan's Greek Job airing Fridays at 7:30pm on BBC One and available now on iPlayer.
