The second season of the crime thriller, which will see Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo reprise their roles as DCI Daniel Hegarty and DS June Lenker, will premiere globally on Wednesday 22 April on Apple TV, with episodes set to release weekly until 10 June.

The new season will follow the detectives as they’re forced into an uneasy alliance when a young man is stabbed to death at a political rally. And their hunt for a murderer soon escalates into an undercover mission to foil a far-right bomb plot in London.

The new trailer gives fans a first look at the detective duo's operation, as Hegarty says: "This far-right gang has been trafficking weapons. And they're planning something else".

We're then introduced to the gang's leader Cosmo Thompson (Slow Horses' Dustin Demri-Burns), who tells the detectives that he's got a "little message", which is an audio recording of a bomb ticking.
