Jack Seale
After The Simpsons and before Disenchantment, animated-comedy genius Matt Groening created a series set in the 31st century that is, at its best, some of his funniest work. Initially the main protagonists lack some definition but the satirical ideas have all the sharpness of The Simpsons and, when characters like selfish robot Bender and preening space ranger Zapp Brannigan get going, they become classic creations.
For the previously uninitiated, Futurama — which peaks somewhere between seasons three and five — is a goldmine.
