In this intense drama, Robin Weigert plays lesbian Abby, a bored and disillusioned suburban housewife and mother, married to a successful female lawyer. After a blow to the head, Abby develops an alter ego as Eleanor, a prostitute for women. However, the demands of leading a double life begin to take their toll, and she risks losing everything as the lines between fantasy and reality become increasingly blurred. Although the premise may sound like a salacious porn scenario aimed at male viewers, writer/director Stacie Passon's film is an intelligent, thought-provoking examination of female desire and the consequences of duplicity. The plot loses some of its momentum in the last act, but Weigert is splendid throughout, as both the stifled homemaker and the erotically charged escort.
